How To Pick Your Travel Luggage

Backpack, wheeled luggage, duffel… There are so many options to choose from when it comes to selecting gear that travels as hard as you do. Don’t worry, we’re here to make the choice easy (well, easier). Whether you’re gearing up for a local roadie or heading overseas to scale the Swiss Alps, we have luggage for all adventures.

Right, hopefully you have figured out where you’re heading and now you’re onto the fun part – buying luggage. Here are some things to consider when selecting your travel partner.

How you will be carrying (lugging) it

If your luggage’s journey is from the airport, to a car, to hotel; then wheeled luggage is ideal and will likely be the easiest solution. If your travel includes a high risk of stairs, cobblestones or public transport, trust us when we say you’ll want something you can carry on your back. If your travel is mainly back-of-car based then that’s where the versatility of a duffel comes in. You can also think about whether you want the smooth ease of grab handles, shoulder straps, two wheels or four wheels.

Versatility

Speaking of versatility, what do you need your luggage to do for you? Will your luggage remain at your accommodation, or do you require it to travel as hard as you do? Think about your daily adventures and what might be required. Does it need to pack down - like the regular duffels? Does it need to be small enough to be used as your daily – like our Quest Duffel?

Size

This is an easy one. A) If it’s not wheeled and it’s full, can you comfortably carry it? B) If you do some shopping while you travel, will you have enough space to take it back?

Security & Durability

It’s important to think about luggage security both in and out of the airport. Maybe you require lockable zips, one entry point, or tough outer fabric.

Packing Cells

Coming in a range of colours and sizes makes organising your luggage a breeze. Mesh on the lid makes it easy to find what you're looking for and the full-perimeter clamshell lid makes it easy to sort everything.

Double or Nothing Wash Bag

Toiletries, tools, pencils – you name it. The oversized design features two zipped pockets. One has an internal zipped pocket for small essentials and the other has an internal mesh pocket for larger items. Handles at either end can be hung — or grabbed — in an instant.

Quest Tech Pouch

A versatile tech pouch with a clever design that allows it to sit upright. Perfect for storing cables and tech accessories, ensuring they’re not only secure but also easily accessible.

Pack it pack

The travel essential. It packs into itself so it can be taken anywhere; keep it in your bag, travel pack or suitcase for last minute missions and shopping. Stretchy side pockets are perfect for your drink bottle and there's a front zipped pocket for small items and another in the main compartment for valuables.

Voyage travel pillow

An inflatable neck pillow with a soft touch cover for comfort on those long haul flights. It’s comfort that fits anywhere without taking up too much space.

Voyage liner

A liner is perfect if it will be too hot for a sleeping bag, or if you just want an extra layer between you sleeping bag or hostel sheets. They pack down small and are easy to wash (much easier than a sleeping bag).

Colours and styles may not all be available. Check online & in-store.
