Synthetic fabrics used for tents and rucksacks are coated with a water repellent treatment. Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light both destroys the water repellency and leads to a reduction in fabric tear strength, significantly shortening the lifespan of equipment. The application of Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® can double the effective life of equipment by protecting against UV damage, while also providing Durable Water Repellency (DWR) to keep the rain out. It can be applied to wet or dry synthetic fabrics and it is water-based, non-aerosol, non-flammable, non-hazardous and environmentally friendly. It contains no harmful solvents or volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and is completely fluorocarbon free. Nikwax recommends to most effectively benefit from the ultraviolet (UV) and Durable Water Repellent (DWR) protection of Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® it is best applied to equipment from new. -
Design features
- Adds Durable Water Repellency (DWR), to the maximum testable standard, and ultraviolet (UV) protection

If you're not completely satisfied, you are welcome to exchange your purchase* with the original receipt for a full refund, store credit, or an alternative product, within 60 days. The returned product must be unused, and in the original packaging with all tags still intact. Footwear should be tested indoors and returned in original packaging. Shoe boxes must be free of tape, writing, and stickers; use a postage bag for added protection.
*Excludes next-to-skin swimwear, masks, underwear, food, gas canisters, helmets[1], goggles[2], and gift vouchers.

WARRANTY AND REPAIRS
We trust our gear completely. If a product fails due to a major manufacturing fault or material defect, you can ask for a replacement, refund, or we’ll repair it free of charge. For non-Macpac branded products, we’ll always work with you to determine whether a repair, replacement or refund is appropriate.
